Tom is the founder and Chairman of Edgemoor and is chair of the firm’s Investment Selection Committee. Tom provides asset allocation advice, is the principal portfolio manager for Edgemoor, and is the investment manager of Edgemoor's equity mutual fund. Before establishing the firm in 1999, Tom was president of the Washington law firm Sherman, Meehan, Curtin & Ain, P.C., which he co-founded in 1968, and served as portfolio manager for the firm’s retirement plan. Tom holds a BA from Middlebury College and an LLB with Honors from Duke University Law School, where he served on the Duke Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif. After graduating from Duke, Tom was a Ford Foundation Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center.

Timothy C. Coughlin, CFP® Managing Director
Tim manages business development activities and is a member of Edgemoor’s Investment Selection Committee. Tim develops and manages client relationships and provides portfolio management, asset allocation advice and financial planning services. Before joining Edgemoor in 2004, Tim was a banker for forty years, most recently President of Riggs National Corporation and CEO of Riggs Investment Advisors, Inc. which managed assets of over $1 billion. Tim is Chairman of WETA Public Television and Radio, a member of the Dean’s Council for Washington National Cathedral, a Director of the Economic Club of Washington and a Trustee Emeritus of the Federal City Council. He was formerly Treasurer of the Kennedy Center, Chairman of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and Governing Board member of St. Albans School. He holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Tim is also a Certified Financial Planner®.

Paul P. Meehan, CFA President
Paul manages Edgemoor’s income strategy, heads its trading operations, and is a member of the Investment Selection Committee. Paul is also the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and serves as co-manager of Edgemoor's equity mutual fund. Before joining Edgemoor in 2002, he practiced law for five years with the federal government. Paul serves as a Trustee of the Brookmont Community Church. He previously served as Treasurer of the Glen Echo Fire Department Foundation and Conduit Road Fire Board. He holds a JD, with Honors, from the Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Government, with Honors and Distinction in All Subjects, from Cornell University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Paul is also a CFA Charterholder.

Gay S. Truscott, CFP® Director
Gay is a member of Edgemoor’s Investment Selection Committee and develops and manages client relationships, provides financial planning services, and conducts equity and fixed income research. Before joining Edgemoor in January 2011, Gay worked as a Principal at Allied Capital Corporation, a $3 billion publicly-traded private investment fund. During her 15 years at Allied Capital, Gay held positions in investment and portfolio management, business development, and shareholder relations. Prior to Allied Capital, Gay worked for The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. Gay currently serves on the Governing Board of the National Cathedral School for Girls, of which she is an alumna, and is past President of the school’s Parents Association. Gay also serves on the Investment Subcommittee of the Washington Episcopal Diocesan and formerly on the Investment Subcommittee of the Washington National Cathedral. Gay is currently a member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women at Cornell University and a Board member of the Estate Planning Council of Montgomery County Maryland. Gay holds a B.A. in Government and Economics from Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences and is a Certified Financial Planner®.

Steven D. LaRosa, CFA, CFP® Director and Senior Portfolio Manager
Steve is a member of Edgemoor’s Investment Selection Committee and develops and manages client relationships. Steve researches equity and income investments and provides asset allocation advice. Steve has more than 20 years’ experience as an investment advisor. Before joining Edgemoor, Steve was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank, where he was responsible for managing over $1 billion in client assets. Prior to Bank of America, Steve was a Portfolio Manager at Mt. Eden Investment Advisors, where he managed client portfolios and conducted research for the firm’s internal large cap equity strategy. Steve began his career at Gabelli Funds, where he conducted equity research on securities in the Gabelli Multimedia Trust, a closed-end equity mutual fund. Steve holds a B.S. from the Boston College Carroll School of Management and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was selected to participate in the Applied Value Investing curriculum. Steve is also a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner®.

Christine J. Potts Senior Vice President
Chris manages Edgemoor’s client service activities and assists in trading and portfolio reporting. Before joining Edgemoor in 2005, Chris was employed in the investment advisory industry for 17 years, during which time she traded equity and fixed income securities, monitored markets for portfolio managers, managed research budgets and assisted in all aspects of operations. Most recently, Chris worked for 8 years as a Vice President and Head Equity Trader with Riggs Investment Advisors.
Sara R. Parker Vice President
Sally manages Edgemoor’s accounting activities and assists in compliance and portfolio reporting. Before joining Edgemoor in 2007, Sally worked as Director of Administration for an investment advisory firm and as Office Manager and Tax Specialist for a CPA. Sally also worked as Vice President and Senior Credit Officer in the real estate division of American Security Bank. She holds a degree in Business Administration from George Washington University.
Philipp B. Bentley Senior Investment Associate and Lead Trader
Philipp conducts investment research and oversees the trading activities. Prior to joining Edgemoor in 2021, Philipp was a Funding Officer in the Capital Markets Group at the FHLBanks Office of Finance, where he issued debt on a discount note trading desk. Prior to his role as a trader, Philipp worked at Morgan Stanley, most recently as an Institutional Consulting Analyst with a Graystone Consulting team and previously as a Securities Research Analyst Intern. Philipp graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.
Anne B. Baker Office Administrator
Anne manages Edgemoor’s administrative and IT activities and serves as an assistant to Edgemoor’s senior staff. Before joining Edgemoor in 2008, Anne worked in administrative roles for FF Development LP and Eaton Vance Management. Anne currently serves as the Vice President of the Evarts Street Condominium Association. She holds a degree in English and a minor in Secondary Education from Villanova University.
Bryce Sistrunk-Lewis Analyst and Trader
Bryce supports Edgemoor’s investment research and trading activities. Prior to joining Edgemoor in 2022, Bryce was a Trade Support Analyst on the credit derivatives trading desk at Morgan Stanley, where he facilitated the business needs of various trading and sales groups to service their institutional clients. Bryce was previously a wealth management operations intern within the client reporting team at Morgan Stanley. Bryce graduated from Villanova University with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication and a minor in Economics.
